Mrs.Kathleen Beeman holds dual education licensure in the state of Michigan. She has an Elementary and Secondary Administrator K-12 License and a Professional Elementary Teaching Certificate in all subjects K-8 (self-contained) with endorsements in Language Studies and Social Sciences. She also holds a University of Michigan Certificate in Training and Development.
Mrs. Beeman earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, a Master’s degree in Education/Training Design and Leadership from the University of Michigan, and an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Michigan University.
Prior to taking this position at St. Stephen, Mrs. Beeman worked for the Detroit Public Schools for nineteen years as a teacher, data specialist, professional mentor, grant writer, and staff trainer. Further, she has also taught talented and gifted children in grades 2-8 at Schoolcraft College. This is Mrs. Beeman’s third year as principal and her 26th year in the field of education.
Mrs. Shelley Bergmooser received a Bachelor of Science (with honors) degree from Madonna University with a minor in Family Life Guidance. She has 31 years experience in the field of Early Childhood and owned and operated The Early Learning Center for 15 years.
Mrs. Therese Waddell has been a part of Catholic education her entire life. She attended St. John the Baptist Elementary School and graduated from Ladywood High School. She has been working with children since 1986. She started out as an assistant teacher in a child care setting while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Elementary Curriculum from Madonna University. She later earned a Master’s degree in Literacy Education, also from Madonna University. Mrs. Waddell has been a classroom teacher within the AOD since 1993. She has taught at various grade levels ranging from preschool through 5th grade. She started and developed the preschool program at St. Raphael Catholic School from the ground up. While teaching preschool, she was also the director of both the preschool and latchkey programs. Here at St. Stephen School, Mrs. Waddell is excited to be a part of the Kindergarten learning experience, as well as, the latchkey director.
Marie Brichta earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Michigan and holds an Elementary Teaching Certificate with endorsements in Language Arts and Math. She is also a certified catechist. Miss Brichta plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Education and earn her endorsement as a Reading Specialist. This is Miss Brichta’s fourth year teaching 1st grade at St. Stephen School. In addition to teaching, she also serves as a member on her parish’s Education Commission and helps lead their Young Adult Ministry. Before teaching at St. Stephen, she worked as a preschool teacher for Dearborn Public Schools and has had student teaching experience in Kindergarten, 2nd, and 5th grade. Outside of classroom experience, Miss Brichta has worked for Dearborn Parks & Recreation as a Playground Director and for Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation as a Camp Counselor.
Deborah Sylvester earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She holds a Continuing Elementary Teaching Certificate from the state of Michigan. She is certified to teach all subjects K-8 in a self-contained classroom, as well as 9th grade Science and Social Science. She has also completed catechist training and has received catechist certification through the Archdiocese of Detroit.
She has many years of experience. She began teaching 2nd grade at St. Stephen in 1987. She has had the privilege of preparing her students for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist. She has been trained in the Peer Mentoring Program. She is also a member of our School Improvement Team.
Mrs. Jones has a Professional Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education for grades K-8 (self-contained classroom) with an endorsement in History. Mrs. Jones has a Bachelor’s degree in History and Elementary Education from Madonna University and a Master’s degree in Reading and Literacy from Marygrove College. She has been teaching third grade at St. Stephen School for 14 years.
Sara Cripps is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She graduated in April of 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a focus on Social Studies and a double minor in Science and Language Arts. She is currently working toward a Master of Science in Science Education from the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She holds certifications in Elementary Education, Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts through the state of Michigan. This is her third year teaching.
Mrs. Krajewski is a Registered Nurse with her Associate Degree in Science from Henry Ford Community College. Mrs. Krajewski also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Eastern Michigan University and a Master’s Degree in Teaching Reading/Eastern Michigan University.
She is certified in all subject areas grades K-5, Science grades 6-8, Social Studies grades 6-8. She is also a Certified Reading Specialist for grades K-8 and is a certified catechist.
Ms. Finn has a Professional Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education for grades K-8 (self-contained classroom). Ms. Finn has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Wayne State University. She taught summer school, was a reading interventionist, and taught first grade in in Dearborn public schools.
Ms. Hutcherson received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Wayne State University. She is certified to teach K-5 (all subjects), and 6-8 Math and Social Studies. She also completed the Educational Technology Master’s program at Marygrove College. Ms. Hutcherson is also a certified cathecist.
